According to the 2007 USDA Census of Agriculture, Allegan County had 1,595 farms covering 275,120 acres. They produced a market value of crop and livestock sales over $397,553,000 resulting in

  • #1 state ranking in sales of livestock, poultry and their products
  • #1 state ranking in sales of hogs and pigs
  • #1 state ranking in pullets for laying flock replacement
