Join Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Wheat Program for a regional wheat field day in Huron County. These regional field days are designed to be a little more informal for a shorter time, and with a smaller group, allowing more one-on-one interaction with Dennis Pennington, Michigan State University (MSU) Extension wheat specialist. These will be held in the field at our state wheat variety trials. This allows the opportunity to walk a local variety trial and talk with those who are managing it. Updates on current research projects in wheat will be discussed. Pennington and Jenna Falor will be around to discuss wheat varieties in the field, management decisions, current pest pressures and more. We will also touch upon safety when applying products to fields.

This field day will be hosted by Darwin Sneller. The field is located on the southeast corner of Sebewaing Road and Bay Port Road near Sebewaing, Michigan.

If you have any poor-looking wheat, please feel free to bring in a sample with you and Pennington will help you determine what the issue is.

This meeting has been approved for two restricted use pesticide (RUP) credits in Private Core, Commercial Core or 1A. Two certified crop adviser (CCA) credits for crop management have also been approved.

No registration is required. We will have light refreshments courtesy of the Michigan Wheat Program.
