The Michigan Incubator Kitchen Network (MIKN) assists shared use commercial kitchens, also known as incubator kitchens or food business accelerators, and their communities of food business entrepreneurs through peer-to-peer learning, business development, and technical support. MIKN was originally conceived of and formed by Detroit Kitchen Connect, a program of Eastern Market Partnership, in 2015. The Network is currently coordinated by MSU Center for Regional Food Systems staff in partnership with Fresh Systems, LLC.
The goal of MIKN is to support and grow the ecosystem of food business entrepreneurs in all of Michigan’s communities.
MIKN members have access to a shared Google Drive containing resources, business templates, directories, and meeting notes. The Network hosts quarterly meetings, generally alternating in-person and virtual formats. In-person meetings include site visits to Michigan incubator kitchens and face to face networking opportunities. To view more resources please go to our resources page.
