Green Science Adventures Day 4
One more day til Friday, our campers are wrapping up a fun filled week!
Garden Sign Painting
This morning, our campers painted signs to put in our Educational Garden. They get to do this every summer and it's so fun to see what they create on these signs for all the veggies, fruits growing in the garden!
Pollinator Seed Bombs
Our campers got their hands dirty and made pollinator seed bombs they will use tomorrow! They learned about the importance of how animals, like bees spread pollen to help our plants grow and also that in the city you will find less bugs since they don't have the habitat to live so they head to the countryside.
Garden Kitchen: Buttermilk biscuits with strawberry mango jam & Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothies
The kids raved about another dish they made in Garden Kitchen today! They made yummy strawberry mango jam in the morning to go with the biscuits they made in the afternoon. To hold them over, they got strawberry banana smoothies.
Weather delay... Again
We had a hiccup to our day and heard some thunder, for the safety of everyone we moved inside until it stopped. Thankfully it was sunny and super hot by the end of camp. To hold everyone over, campers worked on their skits (stay tuned for tomorrow), did some arts and crafts, and played simon says. Some pepper groups did some of their stations inside.
Canoeing
The one thing our campers were SO excited about! They love being on the water, paddling around our lake. A few of them were concerned about the snapping turtle but we reassured them they'd be fine! First before getting into the water, we showed each group how to get on/off the canoe, how to paddle and what to do if you happen to fall in. Then we sent two campers and a steward/SIT to help on the water. Each pepper group did amazing!
