Junjie Han, PhD

Major professor: Juan Steibel

PhD Dissertation Title: “Development and Assessment of Predictive Models for Improved Swine Farming.”

Congratulations Junjie Han! Myself and all your colleagues at the Animal Breeding and Genetics group as well as your committee members are proud of your accomplishment. You fulfilled all the requisites for obtaining a dual PhD in Animal Science and in Computational Mathematics Science and Engineering. To accomplish that, you completed and defended a dissertation in animal digital agriculture/precision livestock farming, which I believe it is the first one for our department. I have no doubts that you have great career ahead of you. Congrats! - Juan Steibel

Junjie has accepted a position as a Quantitative Genomics Scientist with Bayer Crop Science in Saint Louis, MO.

Muhammed Ibraheem, MS

Major professor: Barry Bradford

MS Thesis Title: “Productivity impacts of strategies to enhance ruminant fiber digestion”

Congratulations to Ibraheem on completing his MS thesis! When he applied for a Fulbright award to study in the U.S., he certainly didn’t expect to move universities mid-stream and then deal with a pandemic before having an opportunity to conduct his final study. Through all of it, Ibraheem was professional, understanding, and eager to learn as much as possible during his degree program. He navigated a large study, showed incredible attention to detail, and brought a ready smile to the 2280 Anthony office. We will miss Ibraheem’s work ethic and attitude as he works to make a difference back in his native Pakistan with his young family. - Barry Bradford

Alyssa Logan, PhD

Major professor: Brian Nielsen

PhD Dissertation Title: “Role of circular exercise on forelimb loading and accompanying skeletal and joint adaptations.”

Congratulations Dr. Alyssa Logan on starting your new position as assistant professor at Middle Tennessee State University.  With 7 peer-reviewed publications from your time at MSU, and the many awards you received while here, you have distinguished yourself as one of the best.  I look forward to you continuing to make a positive impact on the horse industry with your research and with the many students with whom you will be working. - Brian Nielsen
