Sera Gondwe
Innovation Scholar
Dr. Sera Gondwe, is a UBI Global Innovation Ambassador in Malawi, and an experienced business economist at Lilongwe University of Agriculture & Natural Resources (LUANAR), the leading agricultural public university in Malawi. Her focus is in the agribusiness sector, with over 13 years’ experience of building capacity and consulting for the sector. Among others, Sera is also a Michigan State University (MSU) Innovation Scholar Fellow, a Borlaug Fellowship recipient, and a Commonwealth Scholarship Fellow. In collaboration with MSU, she is currently co-facilitating the implementation of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) Innovation Scholars Programme. Using the skills gained in the ISP experience, she has championed the establishment of the LUANAR Agribusiness Innovation and Incubation center - The Agribiz Hub. In addition to the office work, Sera is an experiential entrepreneur owning a medium-sized poultry farm which complements her business economics expertise through practice. She holds a BSc in Agriculture, a Masters in Business Administration, and a PhD focusing on development finance
