Mock It Then Rock It is an event for high school students of working age to learn workforce preparation skills in an experiential way. Students have the opportunity to engage in a practice interview, have their resumes reviewed, and learn about various topics in mini-breakout sessions. This year, we are also extending the invitation to all WMISD districts, area private schools, and homeschooled and virtual students. The event returned last year and saw over 200 participants and we’re hoping to double that this year!
Volunteers* will continue to conduct practice interviews and review resumes. Based on feedback from last year, we will have a different setup to limit noise and improve event flow, and we are updating forms to it easier for you to give feedback to students. We are also offering volunteer orientation twice this year via Zoom on Thursday, February 1 at 6 pm and Friday, February 2, at Noon.
We’d appreciate it if you could spread the word about the event to your network. Our goal is to recruit 75 volunteers to assist with this event!
*Volunteers not representing a business or organization may be asked to complete a screening process for student safety.
Any homeschooled or virtual students should register to attend by emailing Kate King: kingka26@msu.edu
All other students will register with their schools.
