Soil Life Is Farm Life - Two day event

Join local producers, MSU researchers, conservation partners, and leading experts in regenerative agriculture for a two‑day event featuring farm tours, research demonstrations, and hands‑on soil health learning. You can expect real‑world farm examples, practical soil health strategies, grazing insights, and actionable ideas to take home and try on your own operation.

Each day has a separate registration; if you want to attend both, you need to register for each day. 

Day 1 takes place at Yooper Country Farms, Log Cabin Livestock, and Rock River Flower Farm from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Day 2 takes place at the MSU Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center (E3774 University Dr., Chatham, MI 49816) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We will be meeting at Yooper Country Farm to start and driving to the next farm. You will need to be able to drive yourself from farm to farm or carpool with a buddy.

Log Cabin Livestock - cattle and sheep grazing

Yooper Country - farm market & small livestock Rock River Farm - cut flowers, plant starts, and pastured poultry & pork 

Soil Discussion - End of day networking and appetizers at Rock River Flower Farm. Camp chairs are welcome at the event!

Day 2 Farm Tour and Guest Speaker Luncheon

We will be meeting at the MSU UPREC North Farm to start, and ending with lunch at the MSU UPREC South Farm. Transportation may be provided from farms but please be prepared to drive yourself or carpool with a buddy.

Key Speaker & Soil Health Expert: Eric Fuchs, Soil Health Academy Eric is the Vice President and instructor with the Soil Health Academy, helping farmers across the country build healthier soils and more resilient operations. He focuses on practical, real-world strategies that reduce inputs, improve soil function, and work on working farms.
