    A dramatic change in weather this week. Harvest of Honeycrisp, Gala and McIntosh is nearly finished. Golden Delicious, Empire and Ambrosia are beginning. Red Delicious, Fuji and other varieties are right behind.

    Still many Golden and Red Delicious remain to be picked. Golden Delicious is starting to drop in some orchards.

    Jonagold and final picks of Honeycrisp are being harvested this week in the west central region. Golden Delicious and Empire are moving closer to maturity. Rome and Idared are still immature.

    Report #4. Growers are waiting for the rainy conditions to move out to get back into the orchard to continue harvest. The rainy weather has slowed harvest and slow apples to color.

    Gala and Honeycrisp are being harvested this week in the West central region. Jonagold and Empire are moving closer to maturity.

    A few Honeycrisp remain to be harvested in southwest Michigan. Growers are now switching to harvesting Jonagold, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious.

    Harvest continues for Honeycrisp, Gala, and McIntosh this week, especially for second and third picks, as well as fruit treated with ReTain or Harvista. Later varieties are beginning to show signs of maturity.
