Analyzing Michigan's Biggest Challenges

Following sweeping changes to the economy, public policy and political discourse since the turn of the century, Michigan finds itself at a crossroads.

Systemic issues remain unaddressed even while the challenges and opportunities facing Michigan are well known. The Michigan State University Extension Center for Local Government, Finance and Policy worked with leading policy experts and developed a guidebook that will shape the public policy debate in 2019 and the years to come.

The Center, and the authors of the Michigan at a Crossroads Policy Guide, want to positively impact the public policy outcomes during this challenging era of governing. This guidebook combines a pragmatic approach with expert analysis of the most pressing issues facing Michigan, defining the problem as well as outlining potential policy solutions based on the best available evidence.
