Harvest Optimization

July 6, 2011

Continuing optimal harvest allocation discussions with Chris Brown today, I’m beginning to see a faint glimmer of a potential application to me and my Great Lakes lake whitefish research. In what poses to potentially be a simpler approach than I was initially envisioning, Chris suggested trying to optimize harvest allocation across the lake whitefish management units for different climate scenarios given current harvest quotas. The study could compare the current management strategy catches in a suite of potential climate regimes to optimized scenarios using portfolio theory.

Now my big harvest optiingredients for tim tam slammization question for tonight is: do I have a Tim Tam and save my Milo for later or enjoy a Tim Tam Slam today?
