Join us for the second annual Food-Grade Grains Field Day
This free event, co-hosted by MSU Extension and Michigan Agriculture Advancement, will include presentations from experts throughout the supply chain and a chance to view a variety of grain crops cultivated at KBS.
Are you interested in growing, processing, marketing or using food-grade grains in the Upper Midwest? If so, join the second annual Food-Grade Grains Field Day on June 10th at the Michigan State University Kellogg Biological Station, 9693 N 40th St., Hickory Corners, MI, 49060. The field day will begin at 9 a.m. with the field tour occurring from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and ending with a free lunch.
There are multiple factors and players in the supply chain of growing and processing food-grade grains. We are excited to bring together participants from across these markets while highlighting multiple crops and research trials. Presenters and attendees will discuss the agronomic, processing and end user quality needs and considerations of various grains. The event will specifically highlight wheat, rye, and barley but experiences around growing or using other small grains are welcome.
Email Tayler Ulbrich (chicoin1@msu.edu) or Christine Charles (charl122@msu.edu) for more information or accessibility needs. This event is pending approval for three certified crop advisor continuing education credits for crop management. The event is free, but registration is strongly encouraged.
Register for this free event by June 1st - register here.
