As the State of Michigan moves to finalize a major climate plan, MSU Forestry faculty are weighing in on the need for forests and forests products, including mass timber, to be part of the solution.

In an op-ed published on April 2, 2022 in the Lansing State Journal, Forestry Chairperson Richard Kobe and Sandra Lupien, Director of MassTimber@MSU advised the State to leverage the myriad of carbon benefits in forests and forest products as part of a holistic approach to tackling climate change.

The State Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy is set to deliver a final draft of the MI Healthy Climate Plan to Governor Gretchen Whitmer by Earth Day, April 22.
