As a Community Nutrition Instructor, Caitlin is excited to help her community be a healthier place to live, learn, work, play, and eat! This involves teaching learners of all ages about leading a healthier lifestyle through physical activity and nutrition. Caitlin also serves on various community coalitions and school health teams where the focus is making policy, system, and environmental changes so the healthy choice is the easy choice for everyone. From gardening with preschoolers, to cooking with teenagers, and helping adults and seniors learn how to eat healthy on a budget, Caitlin enjoys each and every aspect of her role. Currently, Caitlin programs in Benzie, Grand Traverse, Manistee, and Wexford counties.
Caitlin received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Michigan State University and continued on to obtain a Master of Arts in Environmental Education from Goshen College. Her previous work has included serving as an AmeriCorps member, curriculum writing for a farm-to-school non-profit, garden and greenhouse manager, and outdoor educator for a preschool and elementary school. When she is not at work, Caitlin enjoys farming, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors with her dog.
