Background:

I received my Bachelor of Science in Animal and Nutritional Sciences from West Virginia University in 2018. After graduation, I worked as a research intern at The Conservation Fund Freshwater Institute, where I assisted in the design and performance of research focused on environmental water quality involving recirculating aquaculture systems used for the culture of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). My interest in animal health led me to Michigan State University, where I am working in the Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Thomas Loch. I will be investigating effects infectious diseases of lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis) have on subsequent early life-stage health and survival, and lake whitefish recruitment to the Great Lakes.
