Fisheries Biology Specialist, Michigan DNR

Biography: Dave is a Fisheries Biology Specialist for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.  Based out of Charlevoix, MI, he is responsible for overseeing biological aspects of the 2000 Consent Decree, which is a negotiated settlement between the State of Michigan, the U.S. Federal Government and five Native American tribes related to allocation and management of fish stocks in the waters covered by the 1836 Treaty of Washington.  As co-chair of the Modeling Subcommittee, Dave is involved in research and assessment of Lake Whitefish and Lake Trout populations in lakes Michigan, Huron, and Superior.  He is also co-chair of Fisheries Division’s Lake Sturgeon Committee and serves on the steering committee for the Quality of Life Leadership Academy.
