Biography: Dean received his B.S. in wildlife biology from the University of Vermont and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in wildlife ecology from Michigan State University.  He is a retired wildlife research biologist for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Prior to coming to MI, Dean worked for the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission and the U.S. Forest Service. His research interests include population dynamics of large mammals, abundance estimation, and predator-prey interactions.
