He graduated with a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University in December 2017, concentrating on conservation biology with a minor in marine ecosystems management. Jake will be working in Dr. Li’s Lab and will also work closely with Dr. Scribner. His research will investigate the role of amino acids in olfactory imprinting of lake sturgeon and identify critical life stages during which sturgeon should be raised in their natal waters. Jake will conduct his research at the Black River Sturgeon Rearing Facility in Cheboygan County, where he has previously worked as a technician and assisted in a project measuring the effect of migration and reproductive behaviors on sperm quality in lake sturgeon.
