Biography:

Kyle earned his B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Natural Resources and a minor in Geographic Information Sciences from Central Michigan University in 2018. While at CMU, he grew to appreciate the complexities of freshwater ecosystems and began questioning the ways in which landscape-scale stressors affect the diet composition and condition of juvenile Rainbow Trout in Lake Michigan tributaries. In continuing his academic career, he moved to South Carolina and completed his M.S. at Clemson University in 2020 under the supervision of Drs. Brandon Peoples and Rob Baldwin. His thesis sought to advance freshwater conservation planning techniques while using the UNESCO-designated Congaree Biosphere Reserve as a model system. Here at MSU, Kyle will be working with Dr. Dana Infante to further develop as an aquatic landscape ecologist, with support from the USGS Aquatic GAP Analysis Program. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, trail running, backpacking, and fly-fishing.
