Morgan Ruelle is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Science and Policy program in the Department of International Development, Community and Environment at Clark University. Broadly, he is interested in how biological and cultural diversity enable communities to anticipate and adapt to change. His current work focuses on how plant diversity within food systems provides options for communities to anticipate and adapt to climate change. Dr. Ruelle's current research focuses on Ethiopia, where he investigates how agricultural development policies impact farmers' use of traditional legume varieties under increasingly variable climate conditions. Dr. Ruelle’s research has been supported by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, the NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship in Food Systems and Poverty Reduction, the Toward Sustainability Foundation, the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future, and the McKnight Foundation’s Collaborative Crop Research Program.
