Background:

My career background has been varied, although has consistently been data-oriented relying primarily on statistical methods.  The better part of the last ten years has been spent in South America, Africa, and Asia, affording me opportunities to work with issues related to food security, education, rural finance, and tickets to see fascinating parts of the world.

Specific areas of application and projects I have contributed to are in econometric analysis for variety of food security and rural finance projects, machine learning methods (Long Short-Term Memory models) in neuroscience with Dr. Mark Reimers, and currently I hold a position as a research assistant with Dr. Jim Bence in the Quantitative Fisheries Center at Michigan State University analyzing population dynamics of fisheries.  


Research:

Most recently, I have been involved with Dr. Bence in analyzing population dynamics of several fish species in Lake Huron using hierarchical Bayesian methods to estimate a variety of growth parameters.
