M.Sc. 2022. Fisheries and Wildlife, Michigan State University
B.S. 2019. Biology, Central Michigan University

I received my BSc in biology from Central Michigan University where I worked in an animal behavior and physiology lab studying the costs and consequences of social dominance in a cichlid fish native to the African Great Lakes. While this work was interesting and exciting, I decided to shift my focus to more applied management-related work closer to home in the Laurentian Great Lakes. To this end, I received my MSc in fisheries and wildlife from MSU, where I studied the spatial and thermal ecology of lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush). I am now a fish biologist with the US Geological Survey - Great Lakes Science Center, stationed at Hammond Bay Biological Station, where I study fish movement ecology, behavior, and population structure, often using acoustic telemetry tracking technology, and investigate improvements to the application of fish tracking technology in the Great Lakes. I am also a PhD student in the Quantitative Fisheries Center, working with Travis Brenden to study the movement ecology of lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis) in Lake Huron.
