Summary

This training module introduces the Type I Tobit model and how to implement it in Stata.  

Objectives

The general objective of this training module is to provide an overview of the Type I Tobit model and the situations in which it is appropriate to use it.

The more specific objectives are to:

1. Provide a review of corner solutions, what they entail, and the pros/cons of using OLS in such cases.
2. Discuss the type I Tobit model as a solution to the OLS shortcomings.  
3. Demonstrate how to estimate the type I Tobit model in STATA.
4. Discuss how to report the results of the type I Tobit model.
