Module 26: Special Topics in Value Chain Analysis

Summary:

This is a three part special topics series about value chain analysis.  Part one reviews the process of value chain transformation in developing countries and how to design and implement agri-food value chain surveys. Part two reviews the research methods used to conduct value chain analysis. Part three reviews how and why gender analysis should be incorporated into value chain studies. The modules contain video recordings of the trainings along with the PDF versions of the slides presented. This series was co-organized by Kasetsart University.

Objectives:

-Understand how value chain transformation occurs in developing countries

-Learn how to design and implement value chain surveys

-Become more comfortable with the research methods used in value chain analysis through examples of work being done in South Asia and Southeast Asia

-Why is it important to address gender in value chain studies

-Learn what resources, techniques, and tools are used to include gender in value chain, market inclusion, and entrepreneurship studies

-Understand how the pro-WEAI can be used on market inclusion

-See examples of gender analysis in value chain studies
