MSU Extension proudly serves refugee and immigrant communities across the state. This site houses multilingual and multicultural resources and information to help you or your organization offer support as well.

Resettling to a new country can be challenging and overwhelming.

Michigan State University Extension is committed to helping refugee and immigrant communities learn how to navigate a new food system and lead healthier lives, while respecting and celebrating their cultures.

From religious accommodations for Halal foods to translated materials, we work to adapt our educational health and nutrition programming to ensure our refugee and immigrant neighbors don’t just learn something new, they know they are welcome and seen.

As part of this work, MSU Extension offers a growing set of educational resources translated to Arabic and Spanish, as well as specialized programs adapted for refugee and immigrant communities. Currently, programming is primarily offered in Southeast Michigan.
