Great Lakes Biochar Network - Economics of Biochar and Feedstock Availability

December 9, 2021

In this webinar Dr. Raju Pokharel of the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University discusses some of the issues surrounding the economics of biochar.  Some basics of biochar and its applications are discussed at the start.  The focus of much of the webinar is feedstock availability and how to utilize feedstocks in such a way as to reduce the transportation costs of biomass.  This is particularly relevant to low-value woody biomass coming from the forestry industry, though can be applied to other types of biomass that are available for conversion to biochar.  The Q&A session at the end of the webinar addresses questions from the audience as relates to the economics of biochar.
