MSU wheat specialist Dennis Pennington talks about his wheat research project that varies planting date and seeding rate. The presentation includes a May 15, 2020, video showing wheat plots planted on five dates from mid-September through November 15, 2019. Michigan Wheat Program Executive Director Jody Pollok-Newsom describes the brand-new Michigan Wheat Yield Contest for soft red and soft white winter wheat (irrigated and dryland). Results based on actual yields. The contest is in tandem with the National Wheat Yield Contest run by the National Association of Wheat Growers and the National Wheat Foundation.
