MSU Extension Master Gardener Program

The Interlochen Center for the Arts will serve as the venue for the two-day science-based gardening event. The 1,200-acre campus is surrounded by nature and nestled between two lakes. The campus includes several hiking trails; beaches; and a Botanical Lab and Community Garden with a school garden, hoop houses, outdoor kitchens, an apiary, pollinator garden, permaculture site, and aquaponics. There are so many reasons to visit Interlochen’s campus and we can’t wait to delight Extension Master Gardeners with all there is to offer.

From the North (Traverse City)

Take US-31 south; turn right when US 31 heads west in Chums Corner and continue on US 31; turn left onto M137 / J. Maddy Pkwy and head south for 2.1 miles; destination will be on the right.

From the East (Grayling)

Take M-72 west; turn left onto US-131 for 13 miles; at the roundabout, take the first exit onto M-186 headed west, stay on M-186 for 2.5 miles; turn right onto M-113 for 12 miles and continue onto Miller Rd for 2 miles; turn right on CR 633 for 1 mile; turn left onto Youker Rd. for 3.5 miles; turn right onto M-137 / Karlin Rd. for 2.1 miles; M137 will turn into J Maddy Parkway and the the destination will be on the left.

From the Southwest (Grand Rapids)

Merge onto I-196 West toward Holland; in 0.4 miles take exit 77A to merge onto US-131 North toward Cadillac; keep right on US-131 N toward Cadillac for 88 miles; take exit 176 onto M-115 West, M-55 West toward Manistee, Frankfort; turn left onto M-115 toward Cadillac, Manistee for 21 miles; at the roundabout, take the first exit onto M-37 N and continue for 6.9 miles; turn left onto Youker Rd. for 3.5 miles; turn right onto Karlin Rd. for 1.3 miles and continue onto M-137 for another 0.8 miles; turn left and the destination will be on the right.

From the Southeast (Flint)

Take onto I-75 / US-23 north toward Saginaw; take exit 162B to merge onto US-10 West toward Midland; continue onto US-10 W for 49 miles; take exit 162 to merge onto US-10 W toward Cadillac / Ludington; in 7.5 miles take exit 82 onto M-115 toward Cadillac, turn right onto M115W / W Cadillac Dr. toward Cadillac for 55 miles; at the roundabout, take the first exit onto M-37 N and continue for 6.9 miles; turn left on N 13 Rd and go 0.7 miles; continue onto Co. Rd 633 for 6.2 miles; turn left onto Youker Rd. for 3.5 miles; turn right onto Karlin Rd. / M137; continue on M-137 / J Maddy Pkwy and the destination will be on the left.
