During the last 10 years, Dr. Almenar has helped growers and private industry with commercialization of different perishables, validation of current packaging systems, development and validation of crop packaging alternatives/concepts for new markets, and methodologies for the characterization of materials (> 70 total). As a result of Dr. Almenar's conducted research, better packaging concepts are available in the market and the quality and safety of the fresh produce has improved.
