Baraga County 4-H and Red Cross partner to train babysitters

In 2003, Baraga County 4-H became aware of the need for youth ages 11 to 15 to have a certified babysitting class. Since then, 4-H and Red Cross have been working together to train babysitters. -

4-H Exploration Days 2009 marked the 40th anniversary of the nation's largest 4-H pre-college conference. More than 2,700 youth and adults converged on the MSU campus from June 24 to 26. -

Cloverbud camp builds skills for youth and teens

With 24 5- to 8-year-olds in attendance, Washtenaw County 4-H held its first ever 4-H Cloverbud Camp June 16-18, 2009. Seventeen 4-H teen counselors served as mentors for the participants and assisted campers with activities. -
Kettunen Center is "Green Lodging Michigan" certified

Since Kettunen Center opened its doors in 1961, it has always had a strong connection with the environment. Recently, the center received recognition for its efforts from the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth (DELEG). -
4-H club takes root

Their garden, part of Sault Sainte Marie's community garden system, quickly outgrew its space. They are grateful to the Sault Gardening Club for the generous donation of two garden plots for the 4-H club to use this growing season. -
Camp Neyati: Serving youth for 70 years

Thousands of young people, adult volunteers and professional leaders have enjoyed Camp Neyati each summer since 1938. In 2009, two-hundred-sixty-five young people, ages 8 to 14, enjoyed a week at camp.
