CWD Testing

Deer hunting season is in full swing in Michigan. As hunters are rounding out bow season and are beginning to prepare for firearm season, CWD testing may be on many hunters’ minds as they look to fill their freezers for the winter.

From November 15-18, hunters may submit their deer for free CWD testing at DNR check stations; outside of this time frame, hunters are still able to submit their deer for CWD testing for a fee by pulling appropriate tissue sample or the deer heads and submitting the sample to either the Michigan State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory or the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory through the end of all Michigan deer hunting season.
