MSU Extension will be hosting the annual Oceana Asparagus Day on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the New Era Reformed Church in New Era, MI. Asparagus growers and industry professionals will hear three different perspectives on the asparagus markets, past, present and future. The morning portion of the program will conclude with presentations on international production with an update on Peruvian Production and the introduction of a new German seed company and the German asparagus fertility work.   

The lunch break will include time for attendees to visit with show trade exhibitors in the Fellowship Hall. Several exhibitors, ranging from equipment to chemical and fuel dealers will be on hand to talk with attendees about their upcoming season needs. 

The afternoon program will provide updates on activities happening in Washington DC and an update on the H2A labor program.  The program will conclude with the introduction of the new MSU Extension Specialty Crops Weed Scientist Dr. Josh Miranda.   

Cost: (includes refreshments and lunch)

  • $25 per person on or before March 2nd
  • $40 per person after March 2nd.

Cancellations received on or after March 2nd will incur a $25 cancellation fee.
