Join us for this self-care series which will cover different topics to help you take care of your social and emotional health. This series will focus on some self care strategies.

Changing Negative Self-Talk on 07/16/2024: Do you ever feel like your thoughts are spiraling in a negative direction? What if we talked to ourselves like we did with a good friend? You can! During this session, participants will learn about the brain’s negativity bias and how it affects our response to stress. In addition, we will talk about the benefits of positive self-talk and explore other tools for dealing with negative self-talk.

Be Kind to Your Mind on 07/23/2024: Be Kind to Your Mind explores techniques to learn to be a detached observer of your thoughts using the power of acceptance and gratitude. Stress Less with Mindfulness teaches and encourages the use of mindfulness self-care skills to help one feel better and enjoy life more. Stress Less with Mindfulness is a program authored by West Virginia Extension.

Calming Down and De-Stressing 07/30/24: How individuals handle their anger and stress affects the people around them. RELAX: Alternatives to Anger is a four-part educational series designed to help adults, parents and caregivers increase their knowledge about anger issues and put anger management and healthy relationship skills into practice. This lesson includes ways to calm down during everyday anger and stress situations.

Cost: FREE. This program is only for the residents of Samaritas Heartline Center.
