Kylie Clay is the Associate Director of the FCCP. She has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Washington and an MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. Her expertise is in the political economy of forest use decision-making and governance. Current projects explore the carbon storage and substitution potential of harvested wood products, social and environmental safeguards for carbon interventions, forest carbon and commodity markets, and institutional determinants of forest decision-making in sub-Saharan Africa. She previously worked for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and has significant experience conducting field research in East Africa. Kylie’s favorite place in the world is Mount Desert Island, both for the forests and the lobster, and her favorite outdoor activities include hiking, skiing, and picnicking.
