Great Lakes Education Program

GLEP Program update

Thank you for your interest in GLEP programming.

We know that canceling the past two seasons of GLEP due to COVID-19 safety concerns has been disappointing for all of us. During this time, we have also had some staff and partnership changes within Michigan State University Extension. These changes are giving us an opportunity to reevaluate the best ways to serve the educational needs of southeast Michigan. To that end, we have decided to continue our GLEP programming pause for Fall 2021.

We appreciate that many of you participated in a survey to help us understand your educational needs and we are using that information to help us reflect and plan. We will utilize the feedback you have already shared, engage with partners, and reimagine the future. We are committed to continuing educational programming in southeast Michigan and excited about new opportunities and partnerships we may be able to develop. As we look to the future, we will distribute updates through this group email and update the Michigan Sea Grant website.

MSU Extension and Michigan Sea Grant will continue to provide excellent learning opportunities for Michigan’s families and schools. In the short term, we encourage you to learn more about current programming by visiting Michigan Sea Grant’s website or MSU Extension’s 4H Environmental & Outdoor Education page.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,

The GLEP Planning Committee
