The Volunteer Selection Process has recently been updated! 

What will you need:

  • Fill out the Application
  • Three (3) Personal References that are NOT family or related to you.
  • A UNIQUE and INDIVIDUAL email address. Volunteer Central will not accept an email address for a new profile that has been or is already being used in the system.

Recognizing the Volunteers that Make it All Happen

Michigan State University Extension and Michigan 4-H recognize the hard work our Volunteers put in year round to help provide mentor-ship, education, and enriching experiences that serve 4-H Youth and their communities. Every year we recognize Volunteers and community members that go above and beyond for MSU Extension and 4-H, through their Leadership Roles or through their donations that keep Manistee 4-H Programs running.

If you know a Manistee or Benzie County Volunteer or community member who is deserving of recognition, you can nominate them for one or more of the Awards listed below:

Manistee County 4-H Friend of 4-H Award

A Volunteer or community member/partner is eligible to be nominated for this award for the following noteworthy contributions to Manistee County 4-H (including but not limited to):

  • Significant Donation of Funds
  • Scholarship Support
  • Building Labor or Maintenance
  • Professional Services
  • Time Given to MSU and/or 4-H Events: school/library programs, clinics, etc.
  • Time Given at 4-H Events at the Fair: Auction, Horse Show, Companion Animal Show, etc.
  • Donations of Goods/Materials for building projects, auction, club activities, banquets.

Nominations are due to the Manistee County MSU Extension by August 31 of the current 4-H Year (Sept. 1-Aug. 31). Five (5) Awards, maximum, are awarded each year.

Benzie County 4-H Friend of 4-H Award

  • Helped a building project or improvement become a reality.
  • Provided a valuable service.
