Forest Carbon and Climate Program receives support from Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund

Forest Carbon and Climate Program is awarded support for e-learning content development and participant support

The Forest Carbon and Climate Program (FCCP) in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University has received continued support from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to develop online learning content and offer direct financial support to participants of the Graduate Certificate in Forest Carbon Science, Policy, and Management. This support will build on a 2016 Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund grant.

Developed content will focus on an interdisciplinary understanding of current and upcoming forest carbon policy and strategy, the science of forest carbon management, and the role of working forests in climate change mitigation. Content will provide a clear and measurable link between forest carbon management and climate change mitigation and adaptation benefits. Additional funds will provide direct financial support to participants of the Department of Forestry’s Graduate Certificate in Forest Carbon Science, Policy, and Management.
