Jon is an instructor in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University. In addition, to his teaching and outreach responsibilities, he is the program coordinator of the 15 month long Electrical Technology Apprenticeship program. He is responsible for advisement and placement of the students within the Electrical Technology program. He also provides non-credit online electrical apprenticeship training courses as part of university outreach activities. The Electrical Technology program is a certificate program that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship and Training and by the State of Michigan, as an approved electrical apprenticeship training program.

Throughout his career, Jon, has worked on National Electrical Code training, energy efficiency and conservation techniques, motor control and automatons and electrical wiring for agricultural producers and businesses. He is a licensed Master Electrician, Electrical Contractor, Electrical Code Instructor and Energy Auditor.
