Biography:

Liz Throckmorton is the Research Administrator for the Institute of Water Research. In this role, she supports research projects through post-award financial management, budget monitoring, and compliance, working closely with researchers and project teams to help ensure projects run smoothly and meet sponsor and university requirements. She also assists with a wide range of administrative and operational tasks across the Institute, helping projects and staff succeed in any way needed.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife, which provides a strong foundation in the scientific research process from field and laboratory work to publication. This background helps her effectively support researchers while navigating the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects. Before joining the IWR, she worked in nonprofit operations management, gaining experience in organizational coordination and administrative processes.

Liz values clear communication and collaborative problem-solving and enjoys supporting research that addresses complex water resource challenges.
