Fred Wheeler holds a degree in Packaging Science from Michigan State University. He is a lifetime Certified Packaging Professional through the Institute of Packaging Professionals. He holds a patent 61/026002 Entitled: Method of Measuring Dents and Method of Classifying Dents for steel shipping containers damaged in the shipping environment.

His extensive working career includes working with packaging machinery and their efficient interface with container/package and respective machinery. He is experienced in cellular packaging line layout and people/machinery flexibility and agility. His background includes Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control Process Monitoring, Process Simplification and Six Sigma Techniques (Green Belt) and tools. He is a strong advocate of performance packaging specifications and packaging line operator training.

He has over 40 years of packaging science experience in the chemical industry where he taught fellow employees hazardous materials packaging regulations including 49CFR, IATA, and IMDG. Fred teaches PKG 477 Hazardous Materials Packaging.
