Paida Mpaso has a rich background in agriculture and environmental reporting after working in mainstream media primarily for Malawis’ Nation Publications Limited (NPL) for over six years. She also has experience working with International agricultural organizations like The Alliance for Commodity Trade in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACTESA-COMESA) and for local Malawi organizations like National Smallholder Farmers Association of Malawi (NASFAM), Farmers Union of Malawi (FUM) as well as Agriculture Commodity Exchange for Africa (ACE). She has also worked for The Roots and Tuber Crops Development Trust (RTCDT), whose mission is to spearhead the development of a vibrant root and tuber crops industry.

As a communications specialist for The New Alliance Policy Acceleration Support Project (NAPAS: Malawi), -a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Project being implemented by Michigan State University (MSU)- she manages both internal and external communications for the project, making sure that policies and strategies that the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development (MoAIWD) develops with support from the Project are publicized in the media.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts-Journalism and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations in Lilongwe, Malawi.
