Bio
Basher is a post-doctoral researcher at MSU, working at the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center in Reston, Va., and associated with Bill Taylor's group.

Basher's current project is focused to fill the knowledge gap in inland fisheries harvest from the rivers by estimating the overall fishery production in the global river networks with machine learning and Bayesian models using in-situ catch data and explanatory variables compiled from remotely sensed and in-situ observations. The project will also identify the response of river fish production to global change (climate and land use) using downscaled climate scenarios at regional and global scale.
