National food system organizations

EmailFoodCorps is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy. It motivated leaders in limited-resource communities for a year of public service. Working under the direction of local partner organizations, it implements a three-ingredient recipe for healthy kids. Its service members:
- Teach kids about what healthy food is and where it comes from
- Build and tend school gardens
- Bring high-quality local food into public school cafeterias
Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food is a USDA-wide effort to strengthen local and regional food systems.
Food System Economic Partnership is a nonprofit established in 2005 to identify economic development opportunities and implement creative solutions to chronic issues relevant to the food system in southeast Michigan. The strength of FSEP comes from the combined effort of farm organization leaders, food industry heads, community groups, food system and economic development experts, and resource providers.
Fair Food Network is a national nonprofit dedicated to building a more just and sustainable food system. It works at the intersection of food systems, sustainability, and social equity to provide access to healthy, fresh and sustainably grown food, especially in underserved communities. It implements model programs and brings the right people together to generate ideas, share resources, and promote policy changes to repair our food system.
