A Watershed Protection Planning and Zoning Assessment Tool was developed by the Planning & Zoning Center at MSU for the purpose of identifying water quality protection strategies currently in use by local governments within the Saginaw Bay Watershed. This assessment tool was applied to analyze master plans and zoning ordinances of communities located within the Rifle, Cass and Pigeon/Pinnebog River Watersheds. Outcomes of this assessment were made available to each community during the second round of local government workshops conducted in Fall 2011.
