Dr. Herb Norman, Senior Academic Specialist – Emeritus, taught urban and regional planning courses at MSU for more than 30 years. Dr. Norman retired to North Carolina this past summer. He has spent most of his time working on home renovation and exploring coastal North Carolina. Dr. Norman looks forward to relaxing, reading espionage fiction and traveling.

Dr. Norman recognizes and values the professional development and enrichment opportunities that are essential for students to become career-ready planning professionals upon graduation. To help further them in that endeavor, this fund assists in financial support to invite guest lecture speakers, cover registration fees for students to attend the annual American Planning Association National Conference and organize experiential learning opportunities.
