Zoonotic Diseases Course

In the wake of COVIDd-19 pandemic, zoonotic diseases are gaining global attention. The majority of infectious diseases affecting humans are of animal origin. This international short course provides a deeper understanding of bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal zoonotic diseases along with detailed information on predicting and predicting future pandemic zoonoses. The course covers principles and practices of One Health program, and roles of international organizations (e.g., WHO, OIE, FAO) in prevention and management of zoonotic diseases. Animal health and international trade, and zoonotic diseases of wildlife origin are the other highlights of the course. This course is jointly organized by MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College of Veterinary Medicine, and College of Osteopathic Medicine. The resource faculty for the course come from MSU and other international organizations including WHO, OIE, and ILRI.
