Mission

The mission of the Farm Lane Society is to honor individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to the Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as a CANR Alumni Association Board member or have brought honor to the College as a notable recipient of a CANR Alumni Association Award or the CANR Distinguished Service Award and to foster their continuing involvement in the College and Alumni Association.

Membership

Membership is granted to alumni who have served in an appointed position on the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Association Board of Directors, received a College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Association, Distinguished Service Award or the College of Human Ecology Outstanding Alumni Award (and have your home department currently housed in CANR).

The Farm Lane Society has no membership dues or conditions of members. 

Benefits

Benefits of the society will continue to develop as time moves forward. Current plans for members include:

  • Special recognition of members with a Farm Lane Society lapel pin
  • Annual program held during ANR Week on campus
  • Special behind-the-scenes tour of campus locations
  • Special periodic programming on MSU properties and research centers

Annual Farm Lane Society Breakfast

In honor of your impact on our College, the Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Association would like to invite you to become a “pinned” member of the Farm Lane Society.

7:45 a.m. – Breakfast served
8:30 a.m. – Induction Ceremony for those not pinned

Presentations

9:30 a.m. – Spartans Will.

Spartans Will. has become a successful branding campaign for MSU. Todd Carter, assistant vice president of marketing communications, will share the research, promotion and meaning behind these two words.

10:00 a.m. – Student Success Initiatives

Kelly Millenbah, associate dean and director, academic and student affairs, will present the challenges and opportunities related to recruitment and retention.
