Join us for this self-care series which will cover different topics to help you take care of your social and emotional health. This series will focus on some self care strategies.

Begin with a Breath 10/29/2024Begin with a Breath introduces participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness, with a goal of reducing stress. Stress Less with Mindfulness teaches and encourages the use of mindfulness self-care skills to help one feel better and enjoy life more. Stress Less with Mindfulness is a program authored by West Virginia Extension.

What is Anger? 11/05/24: How individuals handle their anger and stress affects the people around them. RELAX: Alternatives to Anger is a four-part educational series designed to help adults, parents and caregivers increase their knowledge about anger issues and put anger management and healthy relationship skills into practice. This lesson includes defining anger and learning to recognize your own anger triggers.

Caring for the Caregiver 11/12/24: Approximately 53 million caregivers have provided unpaid care to an adult or child in the last 12 months. [National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP. (2020). Caregiving in the U.S.]. During this workshop we explore the many ways informal caregiving affects a caregivers mental and physical health. Learn the importance of self-care for caregivers. Practice some strategies for self-care. Find out resources for learning more about self-care for caregivers.

Sleep Education for Everyone 11/19/2024: The goal of this workshop is to understand the importance of sleep for both physical and mental health. Recognize the importance of sleep hygiene. Identify strategies to improve sleep. In addition, participants will learn how to continue their learning through a six-lesson series.

Cost: FREE. This program is only for the residents of Samaritas Heartline Center.
