Certificate Training For Organizations: In Person

This 3-day training is all about your people and your projects -- making it the most effective version of the NCI Complete Charrette System™ Certificate training. The NCI will customize our training to fit the needs of your community or organization. Your team will learn the practical NCI Charrette System™ skills, tools and techniques through interactive, hands-on exercises.

Using your handpicked case studies, your team will create project guiding principles, objectives and performance measures, stakeholder analysis, charrette purpose and products, project roadmap, charrette schedules and budgets for the case studies. This course represents a collaborative project management system centered on the co-design process using charrettes and includes:

  • Project assessment tools for gauging the length and cost of a charrette using a project budget, political considerations and design difficulty,
  • Nuts-and-bolts tools needed for managing a multiple-day charrette,
  • Introduction to diversity, equity and inclusion and ways to make charrette processes more inclusive, and
  • Approaches for dealing with conflict.

This training combines the previous Core and Advanced courses into one with the addition of some new content. Upon completion of the course, your team will know how to plan for, host, conduct and facilitate a multi-day charrette.

Course Format

This hybrid (pre-webinar plus in-person) training is highly interactive and blends instruction with case study exercises, and practice of techniques and tools.

The first part of the training is delivered via webinar (and can be offered to an unlimited audience), followed by a 3-day in-person training that is limited to 40 participants. Some organizations take advantage of the unlimited course attendance for the webinar to educate as many people as possible about the process.

Masks are currently required of trainers and participants.
