The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station community is excited to welcome—virtually, for now—Dr. Tian Guo, who is joining the Robertson Lab as a postdoctoral research associate.

Tian, a social scientist, comes to KBS from North Carolina State University, where she earned her doctoral degree. She also holds master’s degrees in natural resource science and management, tourism management, and statistics.

At KBS, she’s working with Phil Robertson and MSU sociologist Sandy Marquart-Pyatt to study how human behavior—and behavioral change—factors into conservation and natural resource management activities. “I’m also interested in identifying leverage points for sustainable intensification of agriculture,” she says.

On her first visit to KBS, during more temperate weather, Tian recalled touring some agricultural research plots and appreciating the beautiful countryside and soft breeze rustling across the fields. Now, during the heart of winter, the landscape looks quite different. But Tian, having picked up the hobby of outdoor, winter running during the pandemic, is ready to enjoy KBS in all its forms.

Welcome, Tian. We’re so glad you’re here!
